Unfortunately there are many who can’t afford to feed themselves, the Foodbank helps.
Dried and tinned goods can be left in the box in St Joseph’s Hall. All donations are taken to the foodbank at Holy Trinity Church, Wester Hailes for distribution to people suffering hardship. Thank you everyone, there is still a tremendous need for your donations!
Re-cycle your ink cartridges and help Christian Aid at the same time; spent, or full, Canon, Epson and HP ink cartridges can all be used.
The recycling point is the grey bin in St Joseph’s Hall, just inside the door but likes a change of scene which means it can sometimes be found nearer the bookshelves.
Don’t miss Balerno’s 2017 Fairtrade Fortnight Coffee/Craft Morning! This Saturday 4th March 2017 10am – 12 noon in St Joseph’s Centre.
Refreshments; home baking (yes please to donations of baking!) and warm Guild hospitality; lovely FT food and craft stalls enabling some of the world’s poorest producers to support their families; children’s activities; Dean Park’s prizewinning poets and FT poetry, and even a Smoothie bike.
Donations to Comfort Rwanda and Mary’s Meals.
Please come, support the stalls, and help welcome the rest of the village, as part of a still caring world.
Find out more on Balerno Fairtrade Village Group’s Facebook, and/or phone 0131-449-4484 to join us or offer help.
Thank you so much.
This year our Christmas fair was an outstanding success. Everyone said how much more intimate it was having it back on our campus and having only the Church Organisations involved. Santa in the vestry was a success and he had lots of children to meet and discover what they wanted for Christmas and their faces told us that this is really what the Fair is for in the community. We learned lessons which we will put into practice next year. Having more publicity and better signage, but we will keep what has proved to be a successful format. Thanks to everybody who made it such a success
The induction of Rev Andre Groenewald as our new parish minister was a very happy occasion, with the church and overflow hall both full. The local church and community were joined by members of Andre and his wife Nanda congregations’ and members of Edinburgh and West Lothian Presbyteries. A big welcome to Andre and family.
