It is a sad fact that despite having the 5th largest economy in the world the United Kingdom also has people who do not have enough money to feed, cloth and house themselves and their families. To help some of those who are most in need Holy Trinity Parish Church in Wester Hailes operates a Foodbank and Balerno Parish Church regularly passes contributions, collected locally, to them for distribution.
The Holy Trinity Foodbank currently provides food parcels to over 200 people every month – distributing one ton of food each month – and they are very grateful for the contributions from Balerno.
To support this excellent and much needed initiative please leave items of dried/tinned food, toiletries, baby food, nappies and feminine hygiene products in the Foodbank collection boxes in the foyer of The Mill Cafe / St Joseph’s Hall.
