Balerno, along with several other congregations, provides regular support to the Holy Trinity foodbank in Wester Hailes where they do a tremendous job helping individuals and families who can’t afford to feed themselves.
This year, to make Christmas a little bit special, Holy Trinity are providing “Christmas Dinner in a bag” for their foodbank clients and are asking neighbouring churches to help by supplying parts of the dinner. We at Balerno are asked to donate tinned fruit and veg as well as fancy biscuits.
If you would like to make a contribution to the Christmas Day of someone who may have little in the way of Christmas cheer, please leave your goods at the foodbank collection point in the foyer of St.Joseph’s.
These items will be taken down to Holy Trinity on December15th so that the bags can be compiled ready for Christmas Day. Regular contributions are of course also still required and very welcome.
