Readers should all be aware of the Church of Scotland’s Radical Action Plan and our presbytery’s plan to put it into action. If you’ve missed it or if you need a refresher then past copies of Balerno blether as well as what is on this website under The Radical Action Plan, should help fill in the blanks.
The Presbytery is now in the ‘consultation’ stage during which members of the Presbytery’s planning team visit congregations who would like to discuss the proposals further. Currie Kirk has already had its meeting; the congregation were also invited and a good number attended.
The next step for Balerno Parish Church is that Presbytery representatives will come to the next session meeting. The meeting is at 7.30pm on Wednesday the 1st June, in St Joseph’s Hall, and is open to all members of the congregation. The only item of business will be the Presbytery’s Consultation Plan.
The future of our congregation will be affected by the changes and how they are implemented this ought to be your chance to influence them for the good of all.
